Polo G (born 06/01/1999) was born Taurus Tremani Bartlett is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to become famous in the Chicago Drill music scene in the late 2010s and is best all known for his song "Pop Out", which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

ORIGIN

Polo G[4] is an American rapper from northern Chicago. He also goes by the moniker Mr.DoTooMuch. He acquired fame after releasing hit single “Finer Things.”

The music video has garnered over 12 million views in as little as 3 months.

Real name Taurus Tremani Bartlett, he was born on January 6, 1999 in Chicago, Illinois. Unlike many rappers, he grew up with both of his parents. One of four siblings, he traced his childhood to an area called Cabrini-Green. In an interview, he recalled various gangs controlling their own buildings.

Despite the dangers that lurk on the streets, his childhood was fairly normal.

However, as he grew older, he started getting into trouble with the law.

In one scenario, Polo G was arrested at least 6 times, back to back.

From car theft to drug possession, the youngster developed an early track record.

At age 15, he lost a friend due to gun violence.

As Polo G indulged in street hustling, he was also developing a rap career.

Earned money was used to cover studio time and musical equipment.

Though his parents initially disapproved of his choice, he continued to weather the storm.

CAREER

At age 17, Polo G, alongside Lil Blast and Lil Felton, recorded his first ever song, Back That Ass Up remix.

The track received minimal feedback.

In 2017, after releasing his first music video, he decided to pursue music full-time.

His following song, Check Me Out, earned the rapper well-deserved attention.

Not only did the song performed well, but it helped Polo G established a bigger fanbase.

His first tracks to hit the 1 million views milestone were “Never Cared” and “The Come Up.”

Both songs, dropped in early 2018, have garnered millions of plays online.

“Welcome Back” is also another standout track that created quite the buzz.

Polo G wrote his major breakout single “Finer Things” while he was incarcerated.

In an interview, he stated that he knew he had something on his hands.

Upon his release, he recorded the track and the rest was history.

In 3 months, the video established a whopping 12 million YouTube views. The track dominated various media platforms.

Another hot track that made its round was “Hollywood.”

With newfound attention, record company took note of his talent.

In October 2018, Polo G achieved another milestone by signing a record deal with Columbia Records. Throughout his young career, he collaborated with other rappers like Lil Durk, Lud Foe, G Herbo, and Lil Baby.

In January of 2019, Polo G collaborated with Lil Tjay on “Pop Out.” A massive hit, the single racked up over 450 million streams within the first 9 months and, in June, hit top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/HipHop Songs chart.

It would earn platinum certification from RIAA[3]. In June of 2019, Polo G’s album “Die a Legend” clinched the #1 spot on the Billboard’s Top Rap Album charts.

The project sold over 30k units within the first week.

It became his first major album to grace the #1 spot.

Some of his other bangers for 2019 include “Battle Cry,” “Deep Wounds,” and “Effortless.”

He recently unveiled “Heartless” and “Icy Girl” (remix).

PERSONAL

Polo G’s height is 5 feet 9 inches.

His net worth is estimated at $2.5 Million USD.

Prior to music, he had dreams of playing basketball.

The G in his stage name stands for Gucci[13]. At first, his style was hardcore rapping, but as his career progressed, he incorporated more singing into his songs.

His career was influenced by rappers like Chief Keef. In his “Finer Things” video, he connected with his family by incorporating them into the shoot.

His Instagram[2] account has 2.3M+ followers and his YouTube[1] channel houses 1.2 million+ subscribers. His relationship status is currently unknown.

In August of 2019, Polo G was hospitalized.

He admitted that being “too lit” on a particular night almost cost him his life.
