Pinches Tacos
Pinches Tacos
Pinches Tacos is a Mexican restaurant owned by the Anaya family based in Los Angeles, California with locations in Las Vegas. Each location is unique to the neighborhood. As a franchise, they avoid becoming like big chain restaurants by blending into the neighborhood to create a place the community can feel at home. [1]
Mission
The Anaya family make their mission simple: to create the most delicious taco experience by using quality food, fresh garden vegetables, and hand made tortillas, along with high quality artisan breads.
Miguel, its founder and owner, hand picks those ingredients every morning.
Their focus is the simplicity of using quality food in order to inspire happiness and success in every bite.
Their recipes are created this way to cook up the famous Pinche Tacos.
Folklore has it that the great uncles of the Anaya Family used to run with the infamous Pancho Villa. They were his cooks or "Pinches". So the story has it that every time Pancho Villa would get hungry, he would scream out "Pinche traime unos tacos!!" (Cook, bring me some tacos) Hence the name "Pinches Tacos". [1]
The restaurant utilizes the dual meaning behind the traditional Mexican expression of the word Pinche. The word "Pinche" is often defined as a kitchen helper such as a Chef assistant, or the one who helps with the cooking of the food and cleaning the space and utensils. The most popular use of the word is in its derogatory form. Mexican nationals use it as a curse word equivalent to English words such as "Fuck" and "Damn". [undefined]
