Pilar Marrero is a Venezuelan Journalist and Author known for her expertise in the coverage of Social and Political issues about the Hispanic /Latino community in the United States. ^[undefined] Throughout her career, she has written extensively about Immigration and Politics in the US media. ^[undefined] She is currently the Senior Political Writer for La Opinión, a daily newspaper in Spanish based in Los Angeles . ^[1]

She attended Universidad Catolica Andres Bello graduated with a degree inCommunications and Journalism.

Shortly after completing her education in her home country, she moved to the United States and attended West Coast University in Los Angeles, California to study English. ^[undefined]

Pilar has covered government and politics in varying degrees since her early days in journalism.

She has covered all the U.S. Presidential elections and races since 1992 for many publications and syndications over the years. She has also worked in print and broadcast, and is also an avid Social media enthusiast. ^[undefined]

As a reporter living in Los Angeles, the epicenter of immigration and diversity in the U.S. West coast, she has become a voice for immigration policies in the U.S. Her 2012 book, Killing the American Dream: How Anti-Immigration Extremists are Destroying the Nation, chronicles 25 years of immigration policy mishaps in the United States and their consequences on the country's economic future. ^[15]

Pilar has taught journalism courses for several institutions, most notably, as aProfessor at UCLA. Her courses covered reporting and feature writing. She also taught Introduction to
