Philipp Budeikin is the 22-year-old creator of the Blue Whale Game, an Alternate reality game which has caused 160 Russian teenagers to commit suicide. He is currently incarcerated in Moscow. ^[1]

Philipp Budeikin was a Psychology student in University before he was expelled.

Budeikin says he built the Blue Whale Game to "cleanse society" of "biological waste".

The game asks players to watch scary things, then hurt themselves and kill animals, and finally to commit suicide, usually by jumping from a tall building.

In jail, Budeikin is receiving hundreds of love letters from teenage girls who played the game and are obsessed with him.

The game went viral due in part to Social media, leading to a rapid spread of the game globally.
