Phil Jaber is Founder of Philz Coffee.

Jaber was born in Palestine in 1967.

He grew up in Northern California’s East Bay.

He became obsessed with coffee as a child.

At age 8, Jaber started selling coffee from a stand in his neighborhood.

The coffee was supplied by a family friend who owned a local supermarket.

As a teen, Jaber helped his father start and run a market in the Sunset District of San Francisco that he calls “the Price Club in the 70s and 80s.” Along the way, Jaber opened a second grocery market and liquor store in the Mission District, where the first Philz would eventually open. ^[2]

In 2002, Jaber sold his liquor license and converted his Mission District market to the first Philz Coffee at 24 th and Folsom.

Jaber has been married for over 35 years.

He has 3 adult children.

^[2]His son Jacob Jaber is the CEO of Philz Coffee. He also has two daughters named Gina and Jessica.
