Vessenes attended Brown University where he earned a BSc in Mathematics with an emphasis in Cryptography.
Career
Vessenes became involved in the Bitcoin and Blockchain space early, launching the first venture-backed Bitcoin Company, CoinLab, in 2011.
He founded and ran the Bitcoin Foundation in different capacities from 2012-2015.
In 2016, he New Alchemy, an ICO advisory firm.
Vessenes has consulted for and advised numerous groups about blockchain including the Department of Treasury, FinCEN and the US Senate GAO.
In addition, he helped construct Bitcoin practices at major law firms like Perkins Coie, and is an advisor to Big Four accounting firms like Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Price Waterhouse Coopers as well as major Venture Capital firms like Lightspeed Venture Partners, DFJ, Ribbit Capital, Pantera Capital, Cedar Hill Capital and others.
