Peter Martinez was a documented gang member from Brooklyn, New York.
He was a member of the Crips street gang.
Martinez had a girlfriend and was expecting a baby prior to his death.
Martinez also had a long criminal record, having been arrested more than 30 times.
Death
On May 2, 2016 Martinez's body was found near the shoreline on Manhattan Beach by a college student walking by.
He had been reported missing since February.
Martinez was wrapped in plastic bags and had his hands tied behind his back.
His feet were coated in concrete.
He had died from Asphyxiation.
Police are investigating his death.
No suspects have been identified.
Authorities believe it is gang related.
