Peter Liang

Peter Liang is a rookie police officer for the NYPD.

Allegations

In November 2014 he gained notoriety for the accidental shooting death of Akai Gurley in the Louis H. Pink Houses in East New York, Brooklyn.

He served for 18 months in the department before being charged of manslaughter in February 2015.

On February 11, 2016 he was found guilty by the jury.

Probation

Liang was sentenced to five years' probation and 800 hours of community service, a Brooklyn judge ruled on April 19, 2016.
