Brock Turner
In May 2015, Jonsson and his friend Carl-Fredrik Arndt were biking late at night when they found Brock Turner sexually assaulting an unconscious woman near a dumpster; the lady later revealed her identity as Chanel Miller. Jonsson pulled Turner off of the girl and called the police. [1]
Peter and Carl were cycling to a party on Stanford University's campus when they saw Brock Turner on top of Miller. [1]
Jonsson and Arndt approached Turner since they saw that the woman was not moving at all. When they started to talk to Turner and he got up they realized that the woman was completely still. [1]
When Turner tried to runaway Peter ran after him and tackled him, while Arndt checked to see that the unconscious victim was still alive. [1]
Jonsson and Arndt then restrained Turrner and called the police.
They held down the then-19-year-old swimmer until the police arrived.
Peter and Arndt gave their reports to police and acted as important witnesses in the trial.
The victim said that she was forever grateful to Peter Jonosson and Carl-Fredrik Arndt.
She wrote in her letter the following thanking them:[1]
Thank you to the two men who saved me, who I have yet to meet.
I sleep with two bicycles that I drew taped above my bed to remind myself there are heroes in this story.
That we are looking out for one another.
To have known all of these people, to have felt their protection and love, is something I will never forget.
