Pee Your Pants Challenge
Pee Your Pants Challenge
The Pee Your Parents Challenge, also known as the #PeeYourPantsChallenge, is a social media challenge encouraging people to pee their pants on camera. The creator of the challenge only meant it as a commentary on viral social media culture, he didn't expect it to actually become viral content. [1]
Overview
The Pee Your Pants Challenge is exactly what it sounds like.
People are encouraged to urinate on themselves and film the embarrassing display.
The challenge originated on TikTok where a user named Liam Weyer, who goes by @liamw2, peed in his pants in a video on April 21st, 2020. The video was initially taken down and he had to reupload it. [2][3]
Rise of the Challenge
Liam Weyer didn't expect the challenge to take off and only uploaded the first one as a sort of joke.
He meant it as a commentary on the nature of viral social media content. In his own words: [2]
"(I) created the challenge as a parody of the other challenges that have gone viral on the internet in an attempt to show how pointless they are.
I am definitely surprised that the challenge actually became a trend.
I am surprised to see that people on the internet will pee themselves if you call it a challenge and add a hashtag."
The hashtag used for the challenge accumulated over 1.9 million views as in only a few weeks. While some people are earnestly liquidating their self worth for clout, others are using the hashtag to make fun of the trend. Some are pretending to be too nervous to pee, or simply disgusted by the whole thing.
