In December of 2018, he was diagnosed with a rare cancer called T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After several tests, he was admitted to Birmingham Children's Hospital. [4] [5]

After the community and his school took up Oscar's cause and started a crowdfunding page through JustGiving.com where they raised $8,600, exceeding the original target. [6]
