Osama Bedier is an Egyptian-American entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder and CEO of Poynt Co. and Independent Director at Qiwi Plc., the world’s first smart payment terminal's creator. Also, he is on the Board of Directors at WePay, Inc., Commerce Signals, Inc., and Qiwi Plc. Mr. Bedier was previously employed as Vice President of Wallet and Payments by Google, Inc.
Early life and Education
Osama Bedier was born on April 1, 1975.
He currently lives in Atherton. Before that, he lived in San Jose, CA from 2006 to 2014. Osama Bedier attended Corvallis High School in Corvallis, OR and graduated class of 1992. He continued his higher education at Riverside City College and University of California, Riverside (1996-1998).
Career
With a deep passion for improving lives through technology, Bedier has spent the last two decades pioneering consumer internet, eCommerce and payments services. Most recently, he lead Wallet & Payments at Google. Prior to Google, he spent 8 years running product development at PayPal building and scaling much of what made them a household name. He has also held engineering leadership roles since the dawn of the web at organizations such as eBay, Gateway Computers and AT&T Wireless.

Osama actively invests and advises many fintech start-upsmainly through NYCA partners. In addition, he currently sits on the boards of QIWI (QIWI:NASDAQ), WePayand PayRange.

In 2013 Osama Bedier left the Mountain View company to market an all-in-one credit cardprocessing machine designed for small businesses. Nowadays the company has launched terminal for big businesses as well. He believes that the device, called the Poynt Smart Terminal, can replace checkout readers that only accept magnetic stripe credit cards.

Personal life
He lives with his wife Nancy and their five children in Atherton, CA.
