Olivera Ježina

Olivera Ježina (b. 1960) is Serbian actress, journalist and television personaliy best known for appearing in 1970s and 1980s films.

Olivera Ježina was born in Belgrade. Her father Marko Ježina was foreign trade expert, while mother Bojana Hadži-Pavlović was journalist. Her grandfather from father side, Šime Ježina, was from Šibenik in today's Croatia; he had worked as maritime engineering expert for Yugoslav government. While growing up, Olivera Ježina often spent summer holidays in Šibenik and its surroundings.

She graduated at Belgrade's Faculty of Dramatic Arts in a class that would feature many future stars, as well as powerful politicians in Serbia.

Her screen debut was in 1977 film Special Education. Her best known role was Mirjana in 1984 teen drama Pazi šta radiš. In 1986 she also had a role of Tito's secretary Davorjanka Paunović in miniseries Odlazak ratnika, povratak maršala. According to Ježina, she was very choosy in her roles, refusing many that didn't meet her high standards; because of that she had to supplement her income by working in boutique.

In 1991 she started romantic relationship with piano player Miloš Petrović who would later become her husband.

During 1991 protests in Belgrade she was caught in violence and lost a tooth. Her and Petrović became married and had daughter Lenka in 1992.

Olivera Ježina retired from acting only to find a new career as host of Ars Altera Pars, culture-themed show on Radio Television of Serbia. She hosted that show from 1992 till 2003.

In 2000s she was active in politics as a supporter of pro-Western Liberal Democratic Party.
