Ofir Shoham, who has adop ted the name Blotter Media for his art projects, is an animator and medical student from Montclair, New Jersey. He is the inventor of an animation technique known as "the neon glow." [1]

Overview

In 2017, Ofir taught himself animation as a distraction from his studies at medical school. He developed a neon streaking style that accentuates physical movement called "the neon glow." Ofir painstakingly edits each individual frame to create his signature style. An animation with 88 frames can take up to 5 hours. A 30 second animation can easily take 20 hours to finish. [2]

History

Ofir's first animated video was a 7 second clip of a friend skateboarding. [5] Ofir first went viral on Twitter as he was growing his Instagram. Someone named @MxnnyAde on Twitter posted one of his videos with the caption “This dude’s in 2075😱🔥🤯” and the tweet went viral. [3] Clips have gone viral showing Andre Iguodala from the Golden State Warriors [7] and Timbaland [8] with animated embellishments. He's also made videos promoting the dancers of Playground LA. [4]

Ofir has been commissioned to work with brands and artists.

Adidas called on him to create something for Brazilian professional footballer Gabriel Jesus. He animated parts of G-eazy's music video for "West Coast" featuring YG, ALLBLACK and Blueface. [6] Ofir also got to animate the introduction to season 16 of "So You Think You Can Dance?". [10] He was also picked up by the Rolling Loud festival to create a short animation for them. [13]
