OBN Jay (born 30/03/2000) is an American rapper from Louisiana. He began receiving attention for his late-2010s singles such as "Big Ole" and "Chess Not Checkers," as well as collaborations with rappers like Quando Rondo and JayDaYoungan. Early Life
OBN Jay was born in the year 2000.
He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he witnessed crime and violence throughout his youth. OBN Inspired by Tupac and Boosie Badazz, he began rapping at a young age, and he began uploading his music online when he was in high school. He graduated from high school in June 2018.
Career
In 2017, OBN Jay started uploading his music online.
"Peewee Longway", one of his earliest tracks, landed in December 2017.
Though the song got mediocre response, it did not discourage the rapper from moving forward. 2018 saw the breakout of the Louisiana native.
In 2018, OBN Jay started turning heads with tracks like “Stop Playing” alongside BBG Joe, “Bout Dat,” and “No Way.”
He later upgraded his status with hit singles “How That Go” and “Vision Blurry.”
Released in August and September, respectively, both songs have garnered almost 2 million YouTube views collectively. He followed up with “TBH” ft Quando Rondo and “Chess Not Checkers.” Uploaded in October, both tracks quickly surpassed a million views. As OBN Jay’s career rose to new heights, his visuals began getting featured on Worldstarhiphop. Finishing the year off on a good note, he released another heat seeker, Big Ole, ft JayDaYoungan. In 3 weeks, the track established 2.3 million views on YouTube and graced WSHH.
He also successfully released his debut mixtape, Logic Real Talk. The 15-track mix featured JayDaYoungan. Aside from aforementioned hits, the project featured standout tracks “I’m My Own Man” and “Heartbroken.” OBN Jay recently dropped single “Tragic Story” in 2019. As of now, he is currently unsigned.
