Nyalleng Thibedi (born September 4,1980) is a South African actress, model, engineer, and television personality. She is famously known in her country as part of the soap opera show named “Uzalo”.^[1][2]

She was born on September 4, 1980 in Soweto town in Gauteng, South Africa. She grew up with her parents and her father ran his own business while her mother was a homemaker.

She holds a mixed ethnicity and belongs to the Christian religion.

She completed her primary education from a local private school in her Johannesburg along with her siblings.

She studied Chemical engineering and holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Cape Town. She also studied Acting in New York.

She has always been interested in acting and a from a young age she started taking drama lessons at Funda Centre which was the beginning of her acting career.

She started out with TV commercials before she found a need to immerse herself in theatre.

She spent six years working in the United States then in the 2008, she got an opportunity, to work in her first film named “Picture Perfect”.

In 2012 she landed a guest starring role in an episode of the SABC 2 series titled "Streets of Manguang". She has performed in many Lookshin Bioskop series and films for Mzansi Magic. In March 2017, she joined Uzalo as Zekhethelo. The Uzalo show is telecasted on SABC 1 television channel. Apart from this, she is also known for her best role of Rama in the drama series named “Single mother”.

Because of her talent and excellence, she has featured in so many other television shows such as Ashes to Ashes, Mfolozi Street, Taskforce, and others.

Apart from an actress, she also works as a fashion model for many popular brands of South Africa.

She has also appeared in so many commercial advertisements like Standard Bank, Castle Lager, Cell C, DStv, JET Stores

She was in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend since the year 2010.

The two both share a six-year-old son.

She stated that she broke up with her partner, because he did not give respect to her.

She elaborated in an interview that she grew up in an environment where women are not respected and that when she was younger, her father used to insult her mother very much in front of her and used to speak very abusive words to her.

She then separated from her partner and took custody of her son with mutual consent.
