Nusret Gökçe is a Turkish chef based out of Dubai. In January 2017, he rose to prominence after a video of him throwing salt on a steak went viral on social media and became the subject for many memes on the internet.

Background

Gökçe is the co-owner of the popular steakhouse Nusr-et, which has six locations across Turkey and Dubai, and caters to celebrity clientele including Antonio Banderas and Tommy Hilfiger. The dash between Nusr and et is to bring attention to the word "et" which means "meat" in Turkish.
