Nórida Rodríguez

Nórida Rodríguez

Nórida Rodríguez (Villavicencio, Colombia; March 19, 1967) is an actress. She spent her early years in her hometown and in 1984 moved to Bogotá to study law and pursue a career in acting. After participating in television series such as Pero sigo siendo El Rey, El Faraón, Camelias al desayuno and Los cuervos, she landed her first leading role in 1987 in the telenovela: Bella calamidades by R.T.I. She also starred in Tentaciones.

Biography

At the age of seven, while studying for her primary school diploma, a teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up; Nórida answered without a doubt that she wanted to be an actress.

During her primary and secondary school years, she led cultural events at the institution she attended.

Her inspiration was the Colombian actress Alcira Rodríguez† (Nórida's aunt), who sent her costumes from Bogotá which she wore indistinctly: sometimes she dressed up as a nurse, sometimes as an old lady and sometimes as a housewife.

During her secondary studies and the holidays, she accompanied her aunt Alcira to the recordings.

This is how she became known in the acting world, until one day the Colombian actor Luis Fernando Orozco contacted her to perform a show in a café-concert in the city of Cartagena. At 16, she made her debut in the telenovela Pero sigo ser El Rey, and was invited by Julio César Luna, its director.

She qualified as a lawyer, graduating from University of La Sabana, however she has not practised as such since she has worked as an actress since she was very young. In 2010 she joined the campaign Denouncing Large-scale Mining in Colombia of the NGO "Reclame - Frente a la gran minería transnacional", which opposes the mining exploitation in the Santurbán moor.

Rodríguez, famous for various roles on Colombian television such as "Lola Calamidades", among others, joins the list of arts figures who differ from Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez, however, like singer Adriana Lucía, the actress Rodríguez apparently also has her strong monetary reasons for doing so, such as juicy contracts for more than 2 billion pesos, which were given to her by the administration of former president Juan Manuel Santos, what citizens call "marmalade".

Rodriguez and her husband, also actor Ariosto Vega Fontecha, known as "Toto Vega", received from the Ministry of Culture of Juan Manuel Santos, eight (8) hitch-hiking contracts, between 2012 and 2017, worth $2,113,400,000 million pesos for the foundation (Non-Profit) of the two artists, called FESTIVER9.

for "Support".

This is an organization created and owned by Rodriguez and Vega, with the purpose of organizing, realizing and promoting the main Environmental Film Festival of Colombia: "Barichara Green Film Festival FESTIVER".

In 2011 Rodríguez and Toto Vega along with Juliana Paniagua (fashion designer and image consultant; daughter of Nórida and her ex-husband José Luis Paniagua†) founded the Barichara Green Film Festival, whose purpose is to show the world what is currently happening to the planet. In April 2013 she took part in the campaign "I want a circus without animals" of the NGO Anima Naturalis as a spokesperson, together with Martina García, Daniela Blume, Alberto Ross, Sarah Ramírez, Lluvia Rojo, Vivi Rodrigues, and others.
