Nicolae Negumereanu
Nicolae Negumereanu (born on September 4, 1994) is a UFC fighter who competes in the light heavyweight division. Negumereanu made his professional debut in October 2016 and has since rattled off nine consecutive victories, all earned by stoppage. While Negumereanu has earned six of his victories via Knockout, his past two wins have each come via submission.[1] He was born in Brașov, Romania.
Career
Nicolae Negumereanu started fighting in the Mixed martial arts on October 10, 2016. His first fight was with Alexandru Gavrila, at RXF 24 - Brasov. Nicole won the fight in the first round within 10 seconds of starting the game.
After making his debut in 2016, he won nine games consecutively.
Negumereanu won the RXF light heavyweight title with a second-round submission in November before being signed by the UFC.[1]
His first UFC fight was against Saparbek Safarov. Originally, Safarov was meant to face Gökhan Saki, but he was injured. Hence, Negumereanu’s reps at Moments Sports Management announced that their client has stepped in to replace an injured Gokhan Saki.
Safarov started the fight with a leg kick and Negumereanu answered with a right hand.
Safarov pushed forward and clinched up with Negumereanu against the fence.
The referee gave Safarov multiple warnings for fence grabs without consequence.
Safarov took his opponent down with a single-leg, but Negumereanu countered with a kimura.
Safarov broke free and began to stand up, but Negumereanu countered with a heel hook.
Safarov grabbed the fence multiple times while defending, causing the ref to almost step in, allowing the fight to continue due to Negumereanu’s submission attempt.
The fighters engaged in heavy exchanges to start the second round before Safarov took Negumereanu down.
Safarov overwhelmed Negumereanu with ground-and-pound, eventually getting to full mount.
Safarov’s elbows pulverized Negumereanu.
More of the same happened in the third round.
Safarov scored a quick takedown and controlled Negumereanu for five minutes.
The Romanian tried a desperation kimura to no avail as time expired. Saparbek Safarov utilized less-than-legal techniques to dominate Nick Negumereanu at UFC London
