Biography
Nico is originally from Colombia and moved to Portland, Oregon, where he grew up, at the age of 2. He grew up heavily involved with music. He won a piano in a raffle in 4th grade and that's when it began taking over his life. He joined the Portland Boyschoir the next year and continued in choirs through high school. [1] Nico's freshman year at the University of Oregon, he joined On The Rocks: UO's male a capella group that once featured in The Sing-Off. He started taking rapping and song writing seriously that year and between classes and recording his own music in the basement of his dorm building he was left with no time for a personal life and left On The Rocks to pursue solo music.
His music is seen as real and raw to many because of the fact that he strays away from the mainstream.
Not focusing on making popular music, but instead making music that captures his emotions, whether it's about mental illness, police brutality, love, or health issues in his family.
In early 2020, he began to release music to a wider audience as well as he began posting covers on YouTube to attract fans of already known artists. Nico is currently working on an untitled EP to release in the middle of 2021 upon graduation from college.
