Nicholas Platias is the Founder of Guru Labs which operates a Lightspeed backed machine learning Startup that checks into risk and fraud in Commercial insurance. He also created algorithms and systems while he worked with Nest Labs which was later acquired by Google.

In the path of his education, there is no much information available on his basic and primary education but he attended the Athens College for his college education and graduated as valedictorian showing his academic prowess as he graduated with the highest GPA on the top of his class before moving on to Stanford University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) studying Mathematics and Computer science. He went further in the same university taking up a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer science.

Talking about his career, he started out in 2012 in the National Bank of Greece where he functioned as a Trading analyst performing and carrying out research and trading simulations with a derivatives trading team spending less than a year with the bank of Greece he moved further in his Career lane in 2013 to join the ship of a company known as Nest, this time around occupying the post of an Algorithms Engineer spending also about a year where he majorly focused and was based on algorithms on which the Nest Labs Learning Thermostat was built. In 2014 he yet took another turn as he took up a job as the Software engineer in RelateIQ for about the space of a year where he developed an interface that supercharges professional relationships with intelligence as an active part of the Data Products and Infrastructure Team. He took the first major big step in his career in the year 2015 as he started out a company where he is co-founder called the Guru Labs, remaining with them for about two years, while with the company his versatility with software will also show forth as he worked on a Lightspeed backed machine learning start-up mining offline data for insights.

In 2018 he took up a job with Terraform Labs as the Head of Research and Analytics, one which he runs till date, helping the company to Re-build money from the ground up as a member of the founding body.

He is the current Chief operating officer of Aave which is an Open-source software where interest can be earned on deposits and assets can be borrowed with an interest rate attached (stable or variable).He works hand in hand with the chief executive officer to oversee the everyday administrative functions of the company. ^[10]
