Niall Farrell (born September 6, 1997 Birmingham, England) is an amateur boxer.[15] Farrell is set to compete at the Commonwealth Games, which are to be held in his hometown of Birmingham, England in 2022.[16]
Amateur Career

He was hopeful to make the 2020 Great Britain Olympic boxing team that was set to compete in Tokyo, Japan. However, due to the global coronavirus outbreak of 2020 the Olympics were postponed until 2021.[12] Farrell was part of Team Great Britain for the 2020 Summer Olympics as a sparring partner. Farrell has competed internationally for England. He is the senior elite champion and competes in the flyweight division. Although Farrell competed in the World Series of Boxing in 2017 and 2018 he still retains his amateur status.[6] Farrell claims he has won over fifty amateur boxing matches. He has often praised his father, Paddy Farrell, for being a positive person in his life. Paddy Farrell has stated that Niall began boxing at age twelve. Niall Farrell won an amateur boxing match in October 2019 and he continues to train and spar intensively.
Ben Kinsella Trust
He currently trains at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. He prepared for 2020 Olympic qualification and had the intention to medal in Tokyo 2020. Farrell intends to use his amateur experience to develop into a successful professional boxer.
Away from the ring he is involved with the Ben Kinsella Trust which aims to raise awareness for rising knife crime levels in the United Kingdom.
