On November 27, 2016, at around 1:30 am, a shooting occurred in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Thousands of visitors flocked to the French Quarter Saturday evening to took part in the annual festivities for the Bayou Classic which is a football game between Grambling State Tigers and Southern University Jaguars.

^[1]At around 1:30 am, shots were fired near the intersection of Bourbon and Iberville streets, leaving 10 people hit in the process.

The victims ranged from age 20-37, eight were male and two were female.

Around 3:00 am, it was confirmed that one man died from his injuries.

Two men were arrested at the scene for illegally possessing firearms.

One man was a victim himself while the other man may or may not have had anything to do with the event itself.

Police are currently investigating a motive for the incident, gathering evidence, and looking for witnesses.
