Jacobs was part of the All Stars Project of Dallas, an after school development program that teaches young people life and business lessons.

Leaders with the program described Jacobs as a bright and beautiful young woman who wanted a better life and wanted to get her family out of their Oak Cliff, Dallas neighborhood. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

On Saturday February 24, 2018, Jacobs was shot and killed while looking out her apartment window in the afternoon. ^{[undefined] [1]}

Jacobs and her 16-year-old sister were at their apartment on the 5700 block of Highland Hills Drive when at about 2:00 p.m. ,they heard a disturbance outside.

Both walked over to the second-floor window and were shot at from a gunman on the ground. ^{[undefined] [1]}

Jacobs was hit in the torso. She was taken to the hospital but later died of her injuries. Her sister was also shot and taken to the hospital but is expected to surviver her injuries. ^{[undefined] [1]}
