Nayel Nassar (Arabic: نائل نصار) is an award-winning Egyptian-American professional equestrian and show jumper hails in San Diego, California. He is engaged to Bill and Melinda Gates' eldest daughter, Jennifer Gates. ^{[2] [4] [23] [30]}

Nassar helped Egypt qualify for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, winning the CSIO4-W Nations Cup of Rabat in October 2019. In January 2020, he got engaged to Jennifer Katharine Gates. ^[30]

Nassar was born to an Egyptian parents in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Kuwait. Nassar's parents run an architecture and interior design firm in Kuwait. He attended the The American School of Kuwait .

Nassar returned to the United States in 2009 to study Economics and Management at Stanford University. Ihn 2013, he graduated from Stanford. ^{[4] [5]}

Nassar has been riding horses since the age of five, and began jumping at the age of ten.

He also trained in Europe.

Nassar currently rides for Egypt as well as the Paris Panthers. ^[6]

He has gone on to qualify for the FEI World Cup Finals in 2013, 2014 and 2017, plus the FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014.

He has also taken first place in a number of competitions, including Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Las Vegas, Las Vegas National Horse Show Winning Round CSI 3*, Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Del Mar, New York Masters CSI5* Grand Prix, and Rabat CSIO4* Designated Olympic Qualifier. ^[31]

As of January 2020, The International Federation for Equestrian Sports currently ranks Nassar as No. 41 in the world, with 36 jumping competition wins under his belt since 2010. ^{[30] [31]}

Nayel Nassar is also a business owner.

He launched Nassar Stables LLC in 2014, according to public records with the Secretary of State of California. The business is based in the city of Encinitas, which is located in San Diego County, California. ^[33]

Nassar is engaged to Stanford University undergraduate and Paris Panthers teammate Jennifer Katharine Gates, daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The couple first began dating in 2016 and share a love of horses. ^{[23][5] [6] [7]}

They’ve been photographed together at events around the world, like the Longines Global Champions Tour in Madrid. The couple will reportedly live in New York, where Jennifer Gates is currently in med school. ^[30]
