Natalie Hernandez was a student residing in Dallas, Texas. ^[1]

Hernandez was a 9th grader at Samuell High School. ^[1]

On Monday February 12, 2018, Hernandez was killed and another 16-year-old male was wounded in a drive-by shooting near Umphress Park in southeast Dallas. ^[1]

Officers were dispatched at about 9:45 p.m. to an area near the intersection of Umphress Road and South Buckner Boulevard on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located Hernandez and the other male teen who were then transported to Baylor University Medical Center. ^[1]

Witnesses told police the victims were in a car along the 1800 block of Ormond Drive, near Umphress Park and Nathaniel Hawthorne Elementary School, when a dark-colored vehicle with four men inside pulled up and fired multiple gunshot, striking two of the four occupants inside. ^[1]
