Nanxi Liu is an Entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. She is the Founder of Enplug, which creates intelligent digital displays. Liu was selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016.
Early Life and Education

Liu was born and raised in rural China while her parents were completing graduate school studies in the United States. She joined them when she was 5 in Fort Collins, Colorado and grew up in a less-fortunate situation. Her family was living off scholarship money and Liu participated in the free lunch program at her school. Liu's parents instilled in her the values of hard work and saving money. While in high school, Liu went on to become an All-American cheerleader and was a member of student government. She would graduate high school in 2008.
Liu attended UC Berkeley and paid her way through college with scholarships from piano and beauty competitions. An active student, Liu was a part of Engineers Without Borders, UC Berkeley Model United Nations, Gamma Phi Beta, and Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. She graduated in 2012.
Career
While in college, Liu was an Engineering Intern at Cisco Systems and worked in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. In 2012 alongside Balaji Sridhar, they co-founded Nanoly Bioscience, a startup that develops polymers that allow vaccines to survive without being refrigerated. The company received funds from Intel, Dell, Duke University and Colorado State. In addition, the company earned the Young Innovator Award sponsored by Microsoft, Airbus's 2015 Materials and Manufacturing Award, Intel's Top Social Innovation, NASA's Top 10 New Technology Companies, Dell's Social Innovation Award, Kairos Society's Top 50 College Startups, and National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance's VentureLab Award. Liu left the company but is still a Board Member.
In October 2012, Liu became the CEO and Co-Founder of Enplug which creates open software for intelligent digital displays.
The software is used by Fortune 500 companies around the world including malls, stadiums, corporate offices, restaurants, hotels, and banks.
