Abduction
On 17 April 2018 Leong summoned an Uber vehicle to transport her to Denver International Airport. While en route, Leong's driver exited the highway and informed her that he was instead taking her to a hotel. When they reached a stoplight, Leong began pounding on the windows and yelling "Let me out of the [expletive] car," at which point the commotion was noticed by a group of nearby construction workers. The driver reluctantly unlocked the doors of the vehicle, allowing Leong to escape. After he unlocked the trunk to allow Leong to retrieve her luggage, the driver exited the vehicle and began to approach Leong, but before he could accost her, the vehicle, which the driver had neglected to brake, began rolling into nearby traffic and nearly hit another vehicle before the driver regained control and drove off at high speed. Leong summoned a second Uber vehicle to complete her trip, and the offending driver has since been banned by Uber. Leong documented the experience in a series of tweets.
