Naiya Villegas is the daughter of Tanya Bermea.

Death

On September 2, 2014, Naiya Villegas was murdered by her mother Tanya Bermea's ex-boyfriend Isidro Delacruz who slit her throat while she slept at her mother's home in San Angelo, Texas.

After the murder, the Tom Green County Coalition of Violence held a candlelight vigil for Naiya on the court house lawn.

Hundreds of community members attended the vigil in honor of Naiya and in support of her family.

Christi Marquez a family friend of Tanya Bermea set up a GoFundMe page to pay for Naiya's funeral and support her family.

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Isidro Miguel Delacruz was sentenced to death by a jury after being convicted of the murder in March.
