“He wanted to make young boys into young men,” said Tyler.
“And he wanted to make young men into strong men.”
His son said he’s not surprised his father died protecting someone else.
“It’s always the good ones who die, isn’t it?” said Tyler, who spoke from North Carolina as he waited for a sheriff’s deputy to pick him up to take him to Maryland.

Death
On February 21, 2018 Police Corporal Mujahid Ramzziddin was shot and killed at approximately 10:15 am while attempting to protect a woman who was being attacked in a domestic violence incident by Glenn Tyndell in a neighborhood near the intersection of Chadds Ford Drive and Chadsey Lane in Brandywine, Maryland. [9] [5] Corporal Ramzziddin, was off duty and lived nearby, attempted to protect the female and confronted the Glenn Tyndell who was armed with a shotgun. Tyndell, who had a protective order issued against him, fatally shot Corporal Ramzziddin before stealing his service Weapon and fleeing in a vehicle. [9] [5]
Tyndell has a history of domestic violence, Stawinski said.
He had three open warrants for assault, police said.
Court records show he was arrested for violating a protective order in March 2013 and arrested for assault in September 2010.
[9] Responding officers pursued Tyndell approximately 10 miles before he stopped and attempted to flee into a nearby wooded area.
The man was shot and killed by pursuing officers.

Police officials said they were heartbroken by Ramzziddin's death.
"With broken hearts, we are announcing that one of our officers was shot and killed today.
The brave officer was shot while stepping in to protect a woman threatened in a domestic situation.
Please keep his family and our department in your prayers," the department said on Twitter earlier Wednesday.

"The murder of Prince George's County police officer Corporal Mujahid Ramzziddin in the line of duty today is an unspeakable tragedy.
The First Lady and I are praying for his family, loved ones, and the department during this difficult time.
Corporal Ramzziddin was a military veteran and a distinguished law enforcement officer who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of his neighbors and community.
His memory and service will never be forgotten.
I have extended my full support to County Executive Rushern Baker, Police Chief Hank Stawinski, and all of the dedicated men and women of the Prince George's County Police Department as they mourn their fallen fellow officer.
The state is standing by to offer any assistance needed to Prince George's County as they investigate this terrible and senseless crime."
