Monica Franco was a 16-year-old teenager who went to Madison High School where she wrote for the school newspaper. She lives in Rexburg, Idaho and is originally from the area. Monica is the youngest child in her family and has been described by her peers as very sweet loving and beautiful. ^[1]

On October 26, 2016 a house located on S. 5th W. in Rexburg, Idaho caught fire. When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found Monica unresponsive in the front yard after her brother carried her out of the burning home. When an officer tried to perform CPR, no pulse was found. It is believed that a wood burning stove was the cause of the fire, which the family believes started Tuesday afternoon or evening. Monica's cause of death is still to be determined.
