Early Life and Background
Molly was born on May 22, 2001, in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. Having spent a troubled childhood along with her mother, Anne O’Malia and sister, Christina O’Malia, facing verbal and psychological abuse from her father.
Her parents went their separate in February, 2011 after which she went on to live with her mother and sister. On November 4, 2011 her sister Christina was involved in a car accident leading to a critical brain injury. Christiana was taking care of by Molly and their mother till she recovered and got back on her feet.
Career
In 2015, Molly's cover of 'Riptide’ by Australian singer and song-writer Vance Joy, brought her to limelight on social media giving her an edge. She became more popular after a controversy with 26 years old rapper, Tyga in December 2015. Controversies
Molly was involved in a controversy with 26 years old rapper, Tyga in December 2015 when OK! magazine mentioned she was flirting with him. Molly defended the claims in a press conference with her mother in attendance and her attorney, Gloria Allred in January 2016. She accused the magazine for invading her privacy and not confirming the claims before publishing such a report. She said their conversation was short after Tyga first contacted her on Instagram. She cleared the air that the relationship was not at all sexual.
Tyga’s manager agreed that Tyga tried reaching out to Molly, but stated it was purely business related as the rapper was hoping to discuss about signing her to his record label.
The manager also mentioned that during the conversation Molly told Tyga that she was 17 years old.
She was also in a controversy with rapper Bobo Norco.
The messages exchanged between the parties stated she was 18 years old and moving to Los Angeles soon after finishing her school.
