Moise Morancy
Moise Morancy
Hero
On October 25th, 2016, as Moise rode the bus near Queens on his way home from the studio recording his mixtape, he witnessed a man, Pablo Levano, sexually assaulting a 15 year old girl.
The man began to caress the girl and expressed his sexual lust to the girl who sat next to Moise.
Moise realized the girl was uncomfortable when the man did this as she tried to push him off but then hit Moise in the knee.
Moise replied, "Yo, bro.
Don't Touch me".
The man began to get aggressive adding racial tension as he yells: "I can do whatever I want, you black piece of shit!" Moise kept to himself in order to avoid an escalation of the problem, but Pablo attempted again to sexually harass the girl, this time by touching her legs - the other people on the bus kept quit and didn't say a word.
Moise told the Pablo: "Yo, my nigga!
Don’t fucking touch her again!
You heard?
Cuz if you do, We gon’ problems!” Pablo then replied, “I’m a real nigga, so try me”.
Pablo reached for his pocket and lunged after Moise who defended himself.
According to Moise, he delivered a combos to Pablo's face, elbowed to his neck, and kneed him in the nose.
Moise asked the people on the bus to record and a man stepped up and helped him out.
Moise says the writes the following on his Facebook:
The police eventually came but started arresting me as well.
I was so confused and felt criminalized.
Why is this happening to me?
I was told that I no matter what the circumstances were, I still assaulted him.
They put me in the back of the car as I tried to explain myself.
He sexually harassed this child!
Shortly after this black police officer who was the Sergeant opened the door, congratulated me and ordered to release the handcuffs.
To see a black man in a position of power right the wrongs, gave me a little bit of hope for the N.Y.P.D.
As I always say not all cops are bad.
The good ones just need to step up.Regarding
the incident, I believe that every woman and child should feel protected. I
urge people to take action when things are unjust. What
do you think? Was
I wrong for stepping in?
The girl gave Moise the red roses she carried with her as a token of appreciation for his heroic act of defending her.
Moise wrote a song he dedicated for the girl in regards to the experience she went through being sexually assaulted.
