He has also worked on other projects, such as the short film “Yes Mum” and the mini-series “Never Tear Us Apart”.

Mitchell Hope was born on June 27, 1994, in Melbourne, Australia. His mother’s name is Lisa. He has two brothers, Jonah, and Tobias.

His father was a businessman in Oklahoma. He stayed in Oklahoma for a brief period of time.Later, he moved to Los Angeles, California in search of career options

Mitchell Hope is an Australian actor. He is well-known for his portrayal of ‘Ben,’ in the ‘Disney’ channel movie, ‘Descendants.’ Hope stepped into the field of acting with small roles in short films, and TV shows. His debut movie, ‘Earth’s Last Remnants,’ did not bring him much attention.

He starred in a few short films such as ‘Down the Way,’ and ‘Yes Mum.’ Hope made an appearance in the mini-series, ‘Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS.’ After struggling for a while to gain recognition, He [14] planned to give up acting.

Career

In 2006, Hope made his film debut in a short film ‘Earth’s Last Remnants.’ The movie was written and directed by Blake Borcich.

It was released in Australia. In the movie, Hope played the role of ‘Amir.’ It was not a big success, and Hope failed to make a mark.

In 2012, he got his first acting project as Juno in the short film entitled “Down the Way”, it tells the story of two lifelong friends who come to terms with how much they are drifting apart.

The film was released digitally through YouTube and gained a bit of attention. He then worked on the short film entitled “Yes Mum”, portraying the character Ryan in the story which follows a ‘phone call from character Andrew to his mother. The film was one of the two winners of the Make a Film, Make a Difference (MAFMAD) competition.

As Hope continued to take on acting projects, more opportunities came his way, and in 2014 he was cast in the mini-series entitled “Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS”, a biographical film about the Australian rock band called INXS– pronounced ‘in excess’ – from their start in Australia playing locally up to their national fame. The band became known for their new wave/pop style but later developed a pub rock sound with elements of funk and dance. The band released numerous hit singles such as “Original Sin”, “What You Need”, “Devil Inside”, and “Never Tear Us Apart”.

Some of their songs gained international acclaim, but they mainly stayed popular within their country.

After the death of lead vocalist Michael Hutchence, the group struggled to find a new lead singer, leading to their announcement of a last performance in 2012. The group has won six Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards over the course of their run.

Descendants and Sequels

After his work in the mini-series, he then gained international fame with his work in theDisney Original movie entitled “Descendants”.

For the role, he had to move to the US with several of his family members for filming.

“Descendants” is a musical fantasy television movie released in 2015, directed by Kenny Ortega. Mitchell starred in the film alongside Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce. The film follows the story of the teenage children of Disney Villains such as Maleficent and Cruella de Vil. These teenagers have to learn to adjust to life outside the island prison, while on a secret mission to steal the Fairy Godmother’s wands to free their parents from captivity. He played the role of the son of Belle and the Beast from “Beauty and the Beast”.

The movie proved successful and got positive reviews along with 6.6 million viewers.

Soon, a CGI animated short-form series was created called “Descendants: Wicked World” which picks up after the film.

The film actors reprise their roles in voicing their characters for its two seasons.

A second film was then created called “Descendants 2” which was released in 2017.

The movie got more viewers than its predecessor, and gained a huge positive rating.

A third film is currently in production and is set to be released on Disney Channel in August 2019.

He is active on Social media platforms, such as ‘Instagram,’ ‘Twitter,’ and ‘Facebook. On his Instagram account he has over 1.2 million followers, on which he posts a lot of personal photos, usually of him travelling to various countries and going out with friends. He also takes photos with some of his co-stars and while on the set. His girlfriend appears in a few of his posts as well. He has an account on Twitter too, which has over 206,000 followers.
