Missy Ryan is an American journalist based in Washington, D.C. Missy Ryan is a reporter at The Washington Post, covering the Pentagon, military issues and national security. ^[1]

Missy Ryan graduated from Georgetown University in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in English literature. She went on to attend Harvard University, where she received a Master's degree in public policy.

She has reported from Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Chile. Ryan was also was a correspondent at Reuters.
