Milan Koch is a German-American venture capitalist based in Los Angeles, California. He is the founder and managing partner of Mantis Venture Capital, an early stage fund that invests in consumer tech, media/entertainment and fin-tech companies in partnership with Grammy-award winning pop duo "The Chainsmokers". Education
Koch graduated from Hochschule Düsseldorf in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree, focusing on entrepreneurship, web content development, public relations, and TV-content management. [1]
Career
Early beginnings
He has also led innovation initiatives for Fortune 500 companies such as HPE, IBM, Capital One, and UBS. Prior to AngelHack Koch worked at Base Ventures, Transmedia Capital, where he participated in investment decisions and conducted due diligence on investments valued at $100M+ in total.
Advisory roles & Mentorship
Koch serves as Advisory Board Member to the SXSW, is a deal flow partner for Start-Up Chile, mentors for Parallel18, Gaza Sky Geeks (first and only startup accelerator in Gaza), and Copernicus Accelerator (an accelerator funded by the European Commission).
Koch frequently speaks internationally on a wide variety of topics such as corporate innovation, growth hacking, and fundraising.
Recognition
In 2018 Koch was invited by Harvard Business School to speak on the topic of "Intrinsic Value of digital assets".
