Mike Marza works as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for Channel 7 Eyewitness News. He has won the Emmy Award for Best Anchor two consecutive times. Mike joined Eyewitness News from KSHB-TV in Kansas City, where he served as one of the main evening co-anchors of the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. weekday newscasts[1].

Career
Mike started his on-air career while he was in college at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas first as an on-air intern, then General Assignment Reporter, and eventually Weekend Anchor[4].
When Mike joined 7News in July of 2011, he covered a variety of stories in the field and on the anchor desk from tropical storms to terrorist attacks.
When bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon, Mike co-anchored persistent long stretches of breaking news inclusion of the assault. After five days, he co-anchored the hunt for the accused bombers that unfolded on live television. After a gunman opened fire on Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Mike co-anchored 7News’ exceptional report on the disaster. Mike also contributed to 7News’ live coverage of demonstrations in South Florida and around the world following the demise of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.
During the 2012 presidential election, Mike field anchored from Boston where he covered Mitt Romney’s campaign. As Tropical Storm Issac threatened South Florida, Mike co-anchored proceeding coverage of its projected path and the destruction in its wake[4].
Mike has led special coverage of President Donald Trump's three Missouri visits and anchored live from the 2016 Vice Presidential Debate in Virginia, at 41 Action News. In 2017, when tornadoes annihilated neighborhoods outside KC, he interviewed survivors live from the devastation. Following a lethal mass shooting in 2016 at a Kansas manufacturing plant, Mike anchored live from the scene[1][4].
Mike joined 7News from ABC News where he filled as a freelance Anchor and Correspondent in New York City. Mike often co-anchored "World News Now" and "America This Morning." He also filed reports for "Good Morning America," "World News Now," "ABC News Radio" and "ABC NewsOne."
