Mike Caplan is the weather Anchor for Fox 32 Chicago and Fox 32 News.
Career
Prior to that, Mike joined ABC 7 as a morning Weather forecaster in 1994, and served as ABC 7's weekend weather Anchor from 1995 to 2003.
He also hosted ABC 7's "Perfect Pets" segment.
In 1987, Mike was hired by WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, NC as chief weather Anchor.
Two years later, Mike was selected to also co-anchor the station's early evening mewscast in addition to his weather duties.
In 1994 Mike returned to Chicago to work for WLS-TV.
Mike earned his meteorologist credentials from Mississippi State University and became weekday Meteorologist.
Mike's first job after college was in Champaign-Urbana, IL at WCIA.
While working there, he reported news before being promoted to weekend and noon weather Anchor.
Mike has also co-hosted the station's PM Magazine show and earned one-on-one interview with President Ronald Reagan at the White House- one of the very first reporters granted such access.
Personal Life
Mike was born and raised in the northern suburbs and has called Chicago home for most of his life.
Mike is also a professional Photographer.
He lives with his wife and son, and their three dogs, in the northern suburbs where he was raised.

Education
After graduating Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Mike earned an Associate’s degree from the College of Lake County.
Later, he went on to earn his Bachelor's in Mass communications from Illinois State University.
