Early Life & Education
Mike Giglio grew up in Mineola, New York. Mike Giglio graduated from Chaminade High School and later moved to North Carolina for college. Mike Giglio graduated from Davidson College in 2006. [8]
Career
Currently, Mike is a staff writer at The Atlantic. Previously, Giglio worked as an investigative journalist and war correspondent for BuzzFeed News based in Istanbul. He covered the conflicts in Syria and Iraq. He has also reported extensively Egypt and Ukraine. [3]
Before working at Buzzfeed, he worked as a correspondent for Newsweek, based in Istanbul and London, and as a reporter at the Houston Press . [3]
Mike's work has twice been a finalist for the Livingston Award and has won the Arthur F. Burns Prize.[12]
Giglio's first book, Shatter the Nations: ISIS and the War for the Caliphate, was published October 15, 2019.[1]
