Mike Dudas is a technology entrepreneur based out of New York City. He is currently the Founder and CEO of The Block a blockchain and cryptoassets community.
Early Life & Education
Mike Dudas is a graduate of Hopkins School a private high school in New Haven, Connecticut. In 2001, he graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. Dudas graduated from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management with a Master of Business Administration in finance, marketing, and media management in 2006.
Career
From 2004-1006, Mike Dudas worked as a Senior Analyst in Corporate Strategic Planning and Development at The Walt Disney Company. He then worked as a Manager of of Strategy for Kaplan Higher Education Corporation from 2006-2007.
In 2007, Dudas became the Director of Business Development at TargetSpot, the first end-to-end advertising marketplace specifically designed for streaming media properties. TargetSpot received investment from Union Square Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures and CBS.
From 2009-2013, Dudas was the Emerging Business Lead of Mobile Commerce at Google. Dudas was part of the team that built Google's commerce and payments business across online, offline and mobile channels. Dudas and his team introduced products including Google Wallet, Google Offers and Zavers by Google. During his first year at Google, he focused on growing Google's music and audio advertising business.
In 2013, Dudas joined Braintree / Venmo as their Head of Mobile Business Development. He was part of the Braintree/Venmo team that helped grow the company to $12 billion in overall payments volume and $4 billion in mobile payments volume annually. In September 2013 the company was acquired by PayPal for $800 million.
In 2014, Dudas co-founded Button, a mobile commerce partnerships platform that helps publishers and merchants build partnerships to earn revenue and acquire users through a mobile marketplace.
Dudas served as the company's Chief Revenue Officer until 2018. Dudas and has team were able to increase revenue by 10 times in one year and drive tens of millions in revenue over four years. This strong revenue growth allowed Button to raise $34 million from angel investors and venture capital firms including Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and Greycroft Partners. Button's platform has been used to connect leading merchants including Amazon, Walmart, and Uber to connect with publishers such as Weather.com, BuzzFeed, and Condé Nast.
In 2018, Dudas founded The Block, a community for enthusiasts of blockchain technology and cryptoassets. The Block is focused on social engagement and discourse, market information, media, and education.
