Michelle Mishcon Stevens is the wife of Joseph John Stevens III. The couple lived together in a home in Tequesta, Florida a suburb of West Palm Beach, Florida. The couple have two children, a daughter named Ivy Stevens and a son also named John Stevens after his father. ^[undefined]

On August 15, 2016 Michelle Stevens and her husband Joseph were stabbed to death by Austin Harrouff before he started eating Joseph's face. The attack was unprovoked and random as he did not know the Michelle or Joseph. Police speculated that he may have been using the drugs Bath salts or Flakka. ^[undefined]

After a neighbor, Jeff Fisher saw the attack he tried to intervene, Austin also stabbed him. Jeff also called 911 alerting police about the attack. ^[undefined]

When police arrived they said Austin was extremely strong. A officer fired a taser multiple times in attempt to subude him but it failed. It took four deputies and a K9 to pry Harrouff off the victim. Austin was “making animal noises,” and “grunting and growling” as officers yanked him away. ^[undefined]

The attack took place at the garage of the couple in their home in Tequesta. The couple enjoyed sitting in their garage on Monday nights with door open. The attack happened only a few blocks away from Austin's home in Jupiter. ^[undefined]

Inside the garage they found Michelle, also stabbed to death.

Multiple “weapons of opportunity” were used to beat, slash and attack the couple, including a switchblade the suspect was known to carry.

Officials said it looked like Joseph tried to fight back.

Before the attack Austin was eating dinner with his parents at a Duffy's restaurant in Jupiter when he became upset about the service and walked away. He had been Jupiter with some of his Alpha Delta Phi fraternity brothers. ^[undefined]
