Michael Vance was a 38-year-old man who was on the run in Wellston, Oklahoma. He was recently released from custody after being arrested for child sexual assault complaints.

On October 23, 2016, at around 6:30 p.m., Vance and another man opened fire with an AK-47 on two Wellston Police Department officers. The officers were responding to a shots-fired call in the area. One officer was shot in the foot while the other suffered a bullet wound in his leg; both men are expected to survive the incident. Vance was shot twice by responding officers.

Vance then stole a patrol pickup and drove to a nearby mobile home park, where he then carjacked a woman and shot her in the process.

Police believe he is driving a white 2014 Sonic.

On October 24th, a judge issued a warrant for Vance for the murder of his aunt and uncle, both who were found in the trunk of a car he stole.

On Facebook Live, Vance livestreamed the police chase and made a statement that its too late for him now.

Vance has HIV/AIDS and may be trying to spread the disease.

On the evening of October 30th, Vance died in a shootout with police near Leedey, Oklahoma. On officer was shot in the incident, but it appears his injuries are non-life threatening.
