On October 29, 2017, Michael made a statement on Facebook regarding a halloween racist incident that took place at a party by students who attend private schools in the Baltimore and east coast area. In the post, Michael admits that back in 2000 when he was a student at the Gilman School, the racist behavior against black people was also expressed at parties as well.
