Michael Neidorff is an American Business Executive. He is the Chairman, President and CEO of the Centene Corporation. In 2017, his yearly salary was listed at just under $22 million. In 2016, he was listed #41 on Fortune's list of Businessperson of the Year.
Education
Neidorff earned his Bachelor's degree from Trinity University in 1965 and his Master's from St. Francis University in 1966.
Career
For 18 years, Neidorff served in progressive roles at Bayer AG and Miles Laboratories affiliates throughout the the United States and Canada. From 1985 to 1995, Neidorff served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Physicians Health Plan of Greater St. Louis, a subsidiary of United Healthcare Corp. (now UnitedHealth Group Incorporated). A year later from 1995-1996, Neidorff served as a Regional Vice President of Coventry Corporation and as the President and Chief Executive Officer of one of its subsidiaries, Group Health Plan, Inc. He became the President and Treasurer of Centene Corp. in May 1996. He served as Treasurer until 2001. In addition, he served as an Independent Director at Brown Shoe Co. Inc. from March 2006 to May 28, 2015. Today, Neidorff is the President, Chairman and CEO of the Centene Corporation.
Neidorff is a member of the board of directors of several arts and civic organizations including Chairman of the National Urban League and United Way, Treasurer of The Kennedy Center, and Chairman of Trinity University.
