Michael grew up in Rockville, Maryland and attended Georgetown Prep. A standout athlete, Michael earned First-team All-Gazette, all-metro and all-conference selections in football as well as being the team's captain in 2011. In addition, he was captain of his school's basketball team 2 years in a row. Michael graduated from high school in 2012. [1]

Michael attended UMass Amherst and was an offensive guard on their school's football team. After seeing some action his freshman year in 2012, he was redshirted in 2013 and appeared in 12 games in 2014. During his junior and senior year, Michael started at right guard and helped lead quarterback Blake Frohnapfel to have record setting games. [1]

Michael passed away suddenly on February 4, 2017.
