Michael Adam Morse (1983- 2017) was a 34-year-old Insurance Brokerage President from Thousand Oaks, California. On June 17, 2017 Michael died during the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was known by friends and family as an amazing man who cared endlessly about others.

Michael Morse lived in Thousand Oaks, California with his wife Jennifer Marshall. The couple had been married for seven years and dated since they were 18. The couple have a history of going to Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and attended when it was held in Los Angeles, California. ^[1]

Morse was a devoted uncle, brother, and son, according to his wife.

He was active in his community and loved to participate in charities such as the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

“He was always trying to find a way to give back,” his wife said.

“People met him and thought he was the nicest guy in the world.”

Michael volunteered as the Teen Events Lead at the Williams Syndrome Association from January, 2000 - July, 2014. ^[1]

Michael was a fan of Trance (Music) and other genres of Electronic dance music. His wife had said that“He absolutely loved the music, was inspired by the music, Mike was the life of the party. He was always up for a new adventure.” He founded a website and blog called EventSafely in 2001 where he posted about EDM and enjoying EDM events safely. He also posted on the sites'Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

Since July, 2016 Michael Morse had worked as an Agency Manager at Penguin Insurance Services in Milpitas, California. He also was the President of the insurance brokerage, Morse and Morse Insurance based in Westlake Village, California. He had previously worked for other insurers including Park West Insurance Services, State Farm Insurance among others.

Michael graduated from California State University Northridge in Northridge, California with a bachelor's degree in History in 2007. Michael was licensed to sell Life insurance, Health insurance, Property & Casualty insurance, and Accident insurance in both California and Nevada. Michael went to Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California.

Morse's sister-in-law said that Michael's death was heat stroke related. She claims that he went into convulsions and died at 3:25 a.m. with a temperature of 109.6 degrees. The Clark County Coroner says that Morse was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. Saturday. The coroner was unable to confirm a cause of death. The reported high temperature for June 17 in Las Vegas was 109 degrees.

According to Las Vegas police, a total of 342 medical calls were handled on the last day of the giant music festival and 4 people were taken to local hospitals.

There were 443 medical calls on day one and 305 medical calls on day two.

Michael's wife said she does not believe her husband was using club drugs at the festival.

He came with three friends and had planned on acting as a “baby sitter” for them.

He was seen drinking a few beers and hard lemonades, but that was it, she said.
