Merzedes Hart was a 19-year-old freshman at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and originally hails from Council Bluffs, Iowa. She is remembered by those who knew her for her talent athletically and musically, her compassion, and for being a role model for others.
High School

While attending Abraham Lincoln High School she was a four-year letter winner in track in sprints and qualified for the Iowa state class 4A six times.
She ended her high school career with holding five of her school's records in sprints and winning female athlete of the year.
College
Merzedes attended the University of Nebraska Omaha where she was the member of their Division 1 track team. In September of 2016, she began releasing rap music under the name Zedes.
Death
On January 13th around 10:30 pm, Merezedes was walking on Highway 6 just west of North 120 Street in Waverly, Iowa when a vehicle fatally struck her. When the authorities arrived, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating the incident as a Hit and run.
