Mercy Mary Becerra aka Mercedez Hartley is a Mother of nine living in Whittier, California which is located in Los Angeles, California. She is the girlfriend of ten years of Johnny Lewis Hartley. Mercy and Johnny were interested in lowriders and were involved in a lowrider Car Club called Down 2 Roll Car Club in Whittier.
Murder and Child Abuse Allegations
On August 9, 2016 Mercy Beccerra and her boyfriend Johnny Hartley were caught with a dead 2-year-old girl stuffed into a duffel bag while trying to move cross to the border from San Diego, California to Tijuana, Mexico. Investigators found that the girl had been drowned. Mercy and her boyfriend are not the parents of the child. The couple tried to cross at 11:30 p.m at the pedestrian border crossing for the San Ysidro port of entry. [1]
Mercy Beccerra and Johnny Hartley are alleged to have murdered the 2-year-old girl.
Both face four felony counts of murder, torture, human trafficking and assault on a child in connection with the case.
The couple are going to be tried in Los Angeles, California.
If convicted, prosecutors have said that Mercy and Johnny each face a maximum sentence of life in state Prison. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Whittier Police Department and San Diego Police Department, are working together in the ongoing investigation.
Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Lisa Coen of the Sex Crimes Division has been assigned to the case.
Between Nov. 2012 and Aug. 2016, Prosecutors also alleged that Mercy and Johnny trafficked a woman.
Mexican authorities found the dead 2-year-old girl after x-ray scanning Johnny Hartley's duffel bag after he was pulled aside for additional screening.
Johnny was detained and transferred to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers then to homicide detectives with the San Diego Police Department.
Mercy tried to flee but was immediately detained and taken into to custody by San Diego Police.

On August 15, 2015 there was a post from a father asking for the public's help to locate his daughter Amanda Zamorano, and his granddaughter, Angelina Skye, both last seen with Becerra.
He also posted that there were cover ups and lies.
The toddler is yet to be identified.

Criminal Record
Mercy plead guilty in 1992, at 19 years old, to felony of selling or transporting of a controlled substance, according to Orange County court records. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail and three years probation. [1]
She was charged with a number of vehicle-related infractions and misdemeanors between 1995 and 2011.
