On April 22, 2016 Melissa Langford wrote on her Facebook page that a cashier refused to serve her when she identified herself as gay as the cashier was talking about "how much she hates gay people."

Melissa Langford was in line at a New Orleans, Louisiana Family Dollar when she heard the cashier talking loudly about 'how much she hates gay people' and decided to record a video after confronting the woman.

The video, which has now been viewed more than 34,000 times and shared more than 1,200 times has gone viral on Social media. It is unclear if Family Dollar has taken any action against the employee but Langford, who has called the company, said she has not heard back from them.
