Mauricio Morales was a resident of Baytown, Texas. ^[1]

Morales was married to Flor de Maria Pineda. He was the father of Mauricio Jr. and David. ^[1]

On Monday, January 8, 2018, Morales, his wife, and two children were found deceased, on the eighth floor of the San Luis Hotel in Galveston, Texas. ^[1]

Investigators stated Flor shot her husband, two sons then turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder suicide. ^[1]

The Galveston Police Department stated officers were alerted to the sounds of pops coming from the eighth floor at around 4:30 a.m. local time.

When police arrived at the room, the door was dead-bolted from the inside and they heard faint moaning.

Once the officers gained entry they found Mauricio and his two sons lying in bed, all with gunshot wounds. Flor was found on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. ^[1]

The motive for the killings is unknown.
